Daniel Schaadt, Head of a CFN Young Investigator Group, Is Holding Now Professorship for Energy Conversion at Clausthal

Professor Dr. Daniel Schaadt: After four successful years as head of a CFN Young Investigator Group he obtained a professorship at the Technical University of Clausthal.

CFN says goodbye to a successful young researcher: Within less than four years after his appointment as head of the CFN Young Investigator Group on Molecular Beam Epitaxy at the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT), Dr. Daniel Schaadt received a call to the Technical University of Clausthal in early 2011. Since October, he has now been holding the professorship for energy conversion at the Institute for Energy Research and Physical Technologies. His work focuses on “electronic and photonic transport phenomena”.

In the past years, the group directed by Schaadt in Karlsruhe mainly concentrated on optimization of nanoscaled materials and components for spintronics, detectors, and photovoltaics. The team was particularly successful in the growth of nitrides for spintronics applications and optimized solar cells of the third generation.

At the Technical University of Clausthal, Professor Schaadt will now continue his research into new materials for energy conversion and, thus, expand his activities on photovoltaics and detectors.

The CFN wishes Professor Daniel Schaadt all the best for his future work at Clausthal.
