The CFN congratulates its member Professor Hilbert von Löhneysen for receiving the Hector award

Hilbert von Löhneysen

Von Löhneysen is breaking new ground through research into the so-called quantum effects in metals, and has discovered a new type of quantum phase transition. Within the framework of the CFN, he investigates metallic nanostructures (CFN projects: B1.4, B2.7, and C4.1). After receiving this award, von Löhneysen joins the five out of twelve members of the Hector Fellows who are also members of the CFN: Martin Wegener (since 2009), Doris Wedlich (2009), Manfred Kappes (2010), Jürg Leuthold (2011) and Hilbert von Löhneysen (2012).
